Education for Science, Technology and ICT

In the 21st century, the education system must keep pace with new advances in science and technology in order to adjust to continuous changes in many fields. The educational staff has to be ready to prepare students, both boys and girls, for this reality. Moreover, educators should help the students adapt to innovations and new technologies. Israel has obtained international recognition in the field of science and technology in education and is willing to share its experience and knowledge with other countries throughout the world.

The ICT era imposes great changes in our lives in general and on the educational process in particular. Computers and electronic communication enable innovations in teaching methods, which are closely linked with the ongoing changes in learning processes and content. The Israeli educational system has vast experience in implementing reforms in the educational environment and in adapting to the information era.

Among the main issues in the training course are:

- Analyzing the place and role of education for science and technology within national development

- Acquainting the participants with new concepts, methods, and tools regarding education for science and technology

- Presenting various educational projects and curriculum models used in Israel (including policy-making, didactic and administrative aspects and teacher training courses.)

- Adapting the teaching environment to new approaches of science and technology

- Elaborating the concept of ICT in education

- Acquainting participants with a variety of learning methods and applications

- Enabling the participants to maximize the benefits of using ICT in teaching and learning
