THE KYAMULANDU PRIMARY SCHOOL E.S.D. CURRICULUM INTERGRATION

The role of our Education for sustainable Development Initiative is to link clearly the schools Enviroment with the school curriculum thus facilitating effective teaching and learning. To attain this as a school we have put in place several  components to support the learner in their school mingling with the Environment for conducive learning thus realize the objective of curriculum Integration. As such the school has a well thought Environment curriculum Integration strategy that has seen all subjects fitting in our road map.

CURRICULUM INTEGRATION NEEDS LINKAGE WITH ESD

Kyamulendu primary school is strategically positioned to fully link the curriculum needs with the E.S.D Project at the school. We believe that learners will be able to fully benefit from the school micro climate that factors all subjects in our school curriculum for realization of Millennium Development Goals and Education for all objectives by 2017.

In our school Education for sustainable Development, we have initiated powerful school Academic Enhancement projects to facilitate our endeavors. In order to reach our children’s needs, we have well plotted learning centers that are attached to the Environment  by pasting Academic Relevant Information (A.R.I) or contents from diversified curriculum requirements to link the E.S.D with Academic needs of our learners in primary school.

THE ESD CURRICUM LINKAGE CONCLUSION.

While we cannot corporate curriculum and ESD, it is very important for the education to categorically understand these connections thus turn education as a social affair where the learner is the principle player.

We have noticed that ESD touches all levels of education from nursery education to university level.  At Kyamulendu primary , ESD  is the  pillar to  our  academic  performance ESD objectives should  be clearly trained to  teachers  so that  they set  examination  orienting same to our  learners.  Creative Arts are clearly seen through environmental completion write ups.

In our conclusion, curriculum cannot stand on its own without ESD incorporating. Learners and education should thus facilitate curriculum connection with ESD among the learners.
